Dell will offer Linux presinstalled

The second largest computer company Dell, will be offering Linux preinstalled on their PC’s
BBC story here…

They have not yet announced which linux version will be used.
Dell offered a Linux alternative on their servers, but now it seems that it will happed for the desktops/laptops as well.

Dell had launced an ideastorm website to determine what the users would want, and the loudest opinion was to have Linux supported and preinstalled as an alternative to windows on theis computers. Dell announces the results of the ideastorm here. Of 100 000 particicipants over 70% said they would use linux. Even though the “flavour” of the linux distro is not yet determined, some believe that it will be SuSE.

Although Ubuntu is becoming more and more popular. At the computer science department where i study, it seems that the next cs-linux will be Ubuntu based, and not Fedora based as it is now.
